Understanding Skills Currency Requirements in the Pega Partners Program

Jason Wilhelm,

As Pega comes closer to announcing the Pega Infinity '25 general availability to our shared clients, it becomes essential that partners keep up with the latest product features and stay current on the product capabilities. Per the skills currency requirements and step up schedule in the Pega Partners Program, by June 30th partners must upgrade their certifications to Infinity ’24.1 in order to qualify for program distinctions.

This blog post outlines everything you need to know about skills currency requirements and certification steps for your team's success in the path to Pega Infinity ’25.

Currency in Pega Infinity ’24.2

Pega Infinity ’24.2 represents our latest platform release available for certification, introducing significant enhancements to user experience, decision management capabilities, and GenAI functionalities.

For professionals who have completed the relevant role-based mission for Infinity ’23 and the ’24.1 Ready mission, the transition to version ’24.2 is designed to be efficient and focused on new capabilities rather than relearning fundamentals. If the professional starts from an earlier version, there will be more content to cover. Although 23.1 currency is required for June 2025, if users are on previous versions, going straight to the ’24.2 is the most recommended path.

Skills Currency Requirements

As noted in the 2025 Partner Program Guide, below are the skills currency requirements to ensure partners are eligible for program distinctions:

  • June 30th, 2025: 70% of relevant staff must be current on Pega Infinity ’24.1

  • December 31st, 2025: 75% of relevant staff must be current on Pega Infinity ’24.2

  • June 30th, 2026: 75% of relevant staff must be current on Pega Infinity ’25.1

This schedule provides partners with time to plan and execute their training strategies while ensuring that by 2026, your delivery teams are fully versed in the latest Pega capabilities.

Role-Based Missions for Version ’24.2

To help your team achieve currency, here are the key role-based missions for version 24.2 (latest available today) and their approximate completion times (for professionals who have already completed Infinity '23 and the ‘24.1 Ready mission, inclusive of the sub-missions for Constellation Adoption, Innovation with Pega GenAI, and Modular Enterprise Reuse Foundation):

  • System Architect (SA) Path:
CPSA 24.2 Socratic: Approximately 7.5 hours to complete (individual results may vary due to the conversational nature of the training)

  • Senior System Architect (SSA) Path:
CPSSA 24.2: Approximately 7 hours to complete
Note: If the Constellation Adoption mission has not been completed, add 12 hours, 10 minutes

  • Business Architect (BA) Path:
CPBA 24.2: Estimated 7 hours to complete

  • Lead System Architect (LSA) Path:
CPLSA 24.2 OR CPLSA Enhancement Mission (which merges Infinity '23, ‘24.2 Enhancements, and Constellation Adoption): 12+ hours if Constellation Adoption has not yet been completed

  • Customer Decision Hub (CDH) Path:
CDH Foundation 24.2 Delta: Estimated 2.5 hours to complete

Planning Your Team's Transition to ‘24.2

To ensure your organization meets the currency requirements, we recommend the following approach:

  1. Assess Current Status: Evaluate your team's current certification levels and identify gaps

  1. Prioritize Key Roles: Focus first on certifying team members in client-facing roles

  1. Create a Training Schedule: Develop a phased approach to certification that minimizes impact on project deliveries

  1. Leverage Pega Academy Resources: Utilize self-paced learning options to accommodate busy schedules

  1. Track Progress: Regularly monitor your team's certification progress through the Partner Portal

Summary

Upgrading your skills currency with Pega Infinity ‘24.1 is a program requirement to achieving distinctions and a strategic investment in your organization's ability to deliver exceptional value to clients. By understanding the certification requirements and planning accordingly, you can ensure your team remains at the forefront of Pega expertise while meeting the program requirements for both 2025 and 2026.
